ALFRED E. COOKSON
NEWPORT & PITTSFIELD – Alfred E. Cookson, 78, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at a Pittsfield health care facility. He was born September 1, 1928 at Dexter a son of George and Eva (Clukey) Cookson, Alfred and his family moved to Pittsfield when he was 13. He graduated from Maine Central Institue in Pittsfield, Class of 1948; and retired from the Cianbro Corporation. Alfred was a communicant of St. Agnes Parish.

He is survived by a sister with whom he resided for many years, Georgia Knowlton of Newport; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alfred was predeceased by brothers and sisters Beulah, Phillip, Beatrice, Norman, Galen and Wilbur.

A memorial mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday, at St. Agnes Church, 50 Detroit Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Fr. Paul Kerns officiating. Interment will be in Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
