ALFRED L. MCKENNEY
CORINNA – Alfred L. McKenney, 82, died October 5, 2002 at a Bangor hospital.He was born November 28, 1919 at Corinna a son of Culbert and Flossie (Thompson) McKenney. He attended Dexter schools and served in the U. S. Army in Germany during World War II. After the war, he married the former Gladys Sawyer, who predeceased him August 10, 1997. He had worked as a spinner at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. Alfred was a member of the Pleasant Street Christian Church, and was a life member of Shirley B. Carter Post 4298, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by 2 sons, Darrell and Larry McKenney, both of Sarasota, Florida; a brother, Vernard McKenney of Dexter; a sister, Viola Bennett of Eliot; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Geraldine D’Amico of Zellwood, Florida; many close friends and special caregivers, and his church family.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, where funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, October 10th, with the Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Village Cemetery. A reception will follow the committal service at Pleasant Street Christian Church in Corinna.
