ALICE HILL LEWIS RONCO
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Alice Hill Lewis Ronco passed peacefully, July 20, 2002. She was born Aug. 31, 1916, in Garland, the daughter of Harold Hill and Hazel Colbath Hill. She graduated from Garland High School and attended Wilton School of Cake Decorating and Candy Making in Chicago. She worked for 10 years in Hazel's Home Bakery in Dover-Foxcroft, which she was instrumental in starting. Having lived in many states due to her husband's employment, she moved back to Maine after retiring from Simmonds Precision Company in Vergennes, Vt. Alice was an active member in the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church. She was a member of the Women's Fellowship and a Hospice volunteer. She was also a member of the Garland and the South Sangerville Granges. Her love of music led her to play the violin, piano and steel guitar.

She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Philip Ronco; brothers, Norman Hill of Dover-Foxcroft and Harold Hill of Salton Sea Beach, Calif.; and sister, Clara Thomas of Dover-Foxcroft. She is survived by a son, Arthur Lewis and his wife, Judy of Greenville; sisters, Barbara Ronco and husband, Francis of Sangerville, Joyce Hews of Dover-Foxcroft and Rachel Howard and husband, Douglas of Rockville, Md.; brother, Robert Hill and wife, Blanche of Yucaipa, Calif.; grandchildren, Cindy Lewis and fianc?, Willie Poisson of Abbot, Aaron Lewis and partner, Kevin Curry of Alexandria, Va., Chad Lewis of Intervale, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Hannah LaBarre and Camryn Martell of Abbot; many special nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Dale officiating. A reception will be held immediately following at the church. Interment of the ashes will be 11:30 a.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Branns Mills, Dover-Foxcroft.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, 828 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft or the Pine Tree Hospice, 75 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft.
