ALTA (POOLER) GOODRICH
BENTON – Alta P. Goodrich, 82, died peacefully May 7, 2003 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Charles Lombard, with the helping hands of Health/Reach Home Care and Hospice. She was born March 26, 1921 at Clinton, a daughter of the late Alton and Frances (Nutt) Pooler, and attended Clinton schools. She married Mansfield “Mike” Goodrich on June 17, 1941, and they shared 60 years together. She worked at a canning factory, at Ski-Land Woolen Mill in Clinton, and at C.F. Hathaway in Waterville for many years. She truly enjoyed time spent with family, sewing and embroidering.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 5 grandchildren and 3 brothers. Survivors include 2 sons, Leroy Goodrich and companion Rose McCarther of Waterville, Alton Goodrich and companion Margaret (whom she treasured as a daughter) of Clinton; two daughters, Joyce Lombard and husband Charles of Pittsfield, Phyllis Cress and husband James of Clinton; 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

By request of the deceased there will be no visitation or funeral services. Private burial will be in the family lot, Greenlawn Rest Cemetery in Clinton. Those who wish may visit the gravesite at their convenience. Arrangements are by Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.
