ALTHEA A. BENNETT
ABBOT, Althea A. Bennett, 83, passed away peacefully May 28, 2009 to be reunited with her husband, Bernard, who predeceased her in 1974, as well as her six brothers and sisters. She was born May 25, 1926, in Dover-Foxcroft, daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Averill) Moore. Althea was employed at Hardwood Products for several years. Up until recently, she was an active member of the Abbot Historical Society and the Abbot Kitchen Committee. She was always ready for a game of cards with Marion or anyone else who dared to challenge her, and spending time with her family, especially during Christmas.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Doore of Dexter and Pam Guerrera of Waterbury, CT along with their husbands, who were like her own sons, Michael Doore and Jack Guerrera. She was known as Gram and Mammie to four grandchildren, Michelle Roy, David Doore, Jill Guerrera, Kristen Guerrera, and five great grandchildren, Morgan, Mikayla and Nathan Roy, Zachary and Isaac Doore. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. During the last 15 years she enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Meiling. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Luthin, the staff at Mayo Regional Hospital and Hibbard’s Nursing Home.

Friends and family may call 2 to 3 pm with services starting at 3 pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Burial will follow at the Abbot Village Cemetery.
