ARTHUR E. SHAW
GREENVILLE - Arthur E. Shaw, 63, loving husband of Joy (Lambert) Shaw for more than 29 years, died July 10, 2002, at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. He was born March 9, 1939, in Greenville, the son of Leighton and Geneva (Prosser) Shaw. He was a graduate of Greenville High School, then moved to Connecticut from 1971 to 1999. While in Connecticut, he worked for Holts Associates. In 1999, when he moved back to Greenville, he worked for C.A. Dean Hospital, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed fishing and bird hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joy; one son, Arthur Edward "Eddie" Shaw Jr. of New Brunswick, Canada; two daughters, Susan Bair of Connecticut and Jolene Shaw of Greenville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; five stepchildren, Diane Toce of Connecticut, Roger Rocray of Sanford, Michael Rocray of Rumford, Arthur Rocray of Waterboro and Dorothy Hernandez of Connecticut; 12 stepgrandchildren, two great-stepgrandchildren; three sisters, Goldena Turner, Beatrice Laskey and Joyce Whitney, all of Greenville; several nieces, nephews and cousins, three cats, Smokey, Sandy and Cooper. He was predeceased by one brother, Merlin Shaw; and one sister, Elsie Bouley.

A time of visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, at McCrory Funeral Home, Greenville. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family lot in Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 52 Federal St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
