ARTHUR "ART" M. TYLER, JR.
ST. ALBANS - Arthur "Art" M. Tyler, Jr., 75, died November 7, 2009 at his home in St. Albans. He was born in Veazie, January 7, 1934, son of Arthur and Florence (Avery) Tyler; and was raised in Dexter by his grandparents, Fred and Eva Avery. He served for 4 years in the US Marine Corps and then served for 21 years in the US Army. After retiring from the Army, Art worked for several years in Colorado as a security guard. After moving back to Maine he was very active in the St. Albans Fire Dept, the St. Albans Grange, and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (MacDonald) Tyler of St. Albans; a son, Clyde Tyler of CO; 2 brothers, Frederick Tyler and his wife, Virginia of Cambridge, and Reginald Tyler and his wife, Margie of Brooks; 3 half brothers, Gary Tyler of FL, Fred Tyler and his wife, Alice of NC, and William Tyler of FL; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie, and a son, Arthur III.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 13, 2009 at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street in Newport with Pastor Greg Arnold officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service. Burial with military honors, will be in the St. Albans Village Cemetery, following the funeral.
