AURORA (MARTINEZ) WHITMAN Her early years were spent in San Antonio, Texas, where she met her husband Forrest Whitman while stationed in the Air Force. They were married in 1944. They moved to Auburn and Waterville, before moving to Greenville in 1960, where she spent the rest of her life. While in Greenville, she was an active member of the Union Church, and the hospital auxiliary at C. A. Dean Hospital. Lola, as she was called, owned and operated a sewing business at Moosehead Stitchery, that also included a Montgomery Ward outlet. In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by a daughter, Vivian and husband Charles Lee of Hopkinsville, KY, and their children, Stephanie and husband Doug Wagoner of Park City, UT, and Jeremey Lee of Nashville, TN; a son Burton and wife Patty of Greenville, and their children, Amber Whitman of Presque Isle, David and girlfriend Britney Sincyr, and son Kyle, all of Greenville; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a number of brothers and sisters. Family and friends will be invited to a small gathering at a later date. Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Auburn.
