Basil L. Wentworth Jr
PARKMAN, Basil L. Wentworth Jr., 57, died peacefully after a brief battle with cancer, on June 25, 2012 at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born on January 20, 1955 in Dover-Foxcroft, the first of four children born to Basil and Lorraine (Darke) Wentworth Sr.

He was raised in Parkman, attended area schools and worked locally before moving to Tennessee to raise his family. Later he moved to Florida where he worked briefly before becoming ill and recently returned home.

He is survived by his parents of Parkman; his brother, Randy and wife Cheri of Abbot; sister, Nancy and fiance Alvin of Guilford; his 4 children, Nicky and Eric of TN, and Ashley and Skylar of FL; 2 grandchildren, McKenzie and Landen; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; also a close brother-in-law, Dennis Cookson of Abbot. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Cookson. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Tammy Saulmer Wentworth. The family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Regional Hospital for the excellent care he received during his brief stay.

Graveside services will be held at the Abbot Village Cemetery on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 3 P.M. with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. Those who wish may send donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society, One Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
