BEATRICE N. BILLINGS
PITTSFIELD - Beatrice N. Billings, 68, died Sunday, March 18, 2001. She was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Pittsfield, the daughter of Herbert and Hildred (Conroy) Newhouse. She graduated from MCI in the Class of 1951. She earned her associates degree at Husson College. She married Donald M. Billings on April 5, 1954, in Pittsfield. He died in 1994. She worked for the Maine National Bank before she worked for Brown's Clothing and Shoes, which she later purchased and operated for many years until she retired in 1993. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Egg Festival Committee from its inception until she took ill, approximately 20 years. She was treasurer for the Community Christmas Project, class agent for MCI and former Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include a son, David Billings of Alfred; a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Debra Billings of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Kait and Nick; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Leah Newhouse; several nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Pat Bickford of Pittsfield.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 at D. H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at D.H. Shorey Funeral Chapel. Spring burial will be in Village Cemetery, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Christmas Project, care of Earl Dean, RR 1 box 3890, Pittsfield, ME 04967.
