Byron Henderson, Jr. He was known as a logger and general contractor, starting his own business in 1950 as Byron Henderson, Jr. Construction Company. He was an excellent crane and backhoe operator. He did excavation work, including 10 senior citizens homes in Greenville, Monson, Guilford, Sangerville, Dexter, Vassalboro and Farmingdale. He was a life member of Pacific Lodge # 64 Masons of Exeter, joining in 1951 and currently serving as the Tyler. He served on the Corinna Planning Board and was Chairman from 1977 to 1990. He also served on the Corinna Tax Review Board. He loved to hunt, fish and bowl, and especially enjoyed his camp on Moosehead Lake. He was an accomplished pilot with 2300 private hours and owned his own airplane. Byron retired in 1994 and spent time in Florida. He is survived by 2 sisters, Anna May (Nelson) Collins of Denver, CO, and Marie J. McWilliams of New Kensington, PA; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends, including Dale and Jeannette Easler of Dexter, who have cared for him these past several years. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel W. Henderson, and a half sister, Lela Johnston. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held 3 P.M. Friday, June 21st, at the family lot, Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna, with the Rev. Harold Wheeler officiating. The officers of Pacific Lodge will also conduct a Masonic service at that time.
