CANDACE R. (MCKINNEY) MCCAUSLIN
PALMYRA – Candace McCauslin, devoted mother, grandmother, and wife passed away October 4, 2008 surrounded by her family and loved ones, following a brief battle with cancer. Born to Mace “Rod” and Donna (London) McKinney in southern California in 1949, Candace raised her family in northern California where she worked as a travel agent. In 1987 Candace and her family moved to Sherman where she opened the Sherman Inn Bed and Breakfast. In 1995 she moved to Colorado with her daughter Amy, where they owned and operated Beaucoup’s Catering, Inc. In Colorado she met and married her loving husband Dale McCauslin. Palmyra has been her home since 2001 when her family moved back to Maine. Candace enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, and most of all her family and 3 very special granddaughters. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Candace was predeceased by her only sibling, Mace “Roddy” R. McKinney III in 1969, and by her mother Donna in 2005. In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by a daughter Amy Zaffiro and special son in law, Terrence, and their 3 daughters, Macee, Clarice and Abigail, all of Palmyra; and son Bret Lash and his wonderful wife, Christine of Hudson.
Candace has requested that there be no service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may sign an on-line guest register and leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
