CARL LOUIS SPRAGUE
STETSON—Carl Louis Sprague, Sr., 67, passed away December 31, 2003 at a Bangor hospital with his wife and family at his side. He was born March 25, 1936 at Bangor, the son of Ralph and Doris (Leathers) Sprague. He worked in the woods for many years and was also employed as a truck driver. He attended the Stetson Union Church. Carl loved music and started playing the guitar as a young boy. He passed this love on to his children and spent many nights playing with friends. Since his retirement, he spent much of his time tinkering around the house with his wife, Kathleen, and raising Bantam hens and quail. He enjoyed woodworking and making miniature sleighs and wagons. Carl also enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, his poker games with family and friends and laughing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Together with his wife of 49 years, Kathleen (Allen) Sprague, he raised 7 children. His family will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife of Stetson; his children, Debra Bartlett and Carl Sprague, Jr. both of Exeter, Patty Woodard of Pittsfield, Charlene Eells and Rebecca Lint both of Stetson, Clarice Decker of Dexter; 2 sisters, Kay Elwell of Dexter and Glenice Dugans of Milo; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Ralph “Peter” Sprague.

Friends may call 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon with the Rev. David Ray, Sr. officiating.

A graveside committal service will be held 2 PM Thursday, May 13th, at Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson, With the Rev. David Ray, Sr. officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.
