OBITUARIES

CHARLES E. “GENE” COOLEY
ST. ALBANS—Charles E. Cooley, 90, died October 18, 2011 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born October 29, 1920 in Milo, a son of Chester and Hattie (Mountain) Cooley. He was lifelong farmer at the farm he had lived at since age 9, and loved his John Deere tractors.

He served in U. S. Army during World War II. Gene was a member of the American Legion, the Grange, and the Sno-Devils Snowmobile Club. He will be remembered as a man who never said no to his neighbors.

He is survived by his wife, Selinda Louise Cooley of St. Albans; a son Charles E. Cooley and wife Jenette of Dixmont; 3 daughters, Priscilla “Patty” Roberts of Corinna, Phyllis Ellison and husband John of Etna, and Judy Mahar and husband Michael of St. Albans; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Hattie Larrabee; a brother, Clifton; and a granddaughter, SueLynn Bolstridge.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, October 21st at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with the Rev. Robert Herring officiating.

Friends may call from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Nutter Cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 U. S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074.
