CHARLES FRANKLIN JOHNSON
GARLAND, Charles Franklin Johnson, 90, died January 26, 2002, at his home in Garland. He was born November 18, 1911 in Dexter, son of Forest and Fronie (Carr) Johnson. He graduated from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter, class of 1929 and farmed in W. Garland until enlisting in the US Army during WWII. Following the service he worked in the area woolen mills for many years. Frank was a charter member of the Garland Fire Dept., the Jack Monroe American Legion Post in Garland, the Garland Historical Society and was a 50-year member of the Garland Grange. Frank was holder of the Boston Post Cane since 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Grant) Johnson of Garland; a son, Robert Johnson and friend, Sherri Lamoreau of Exeter; 2 daughters and their husbands, Elaine and Peter Devine of Garland and Barbara and Gregory Crispell of Garland; a sister, Shirley Fish of Dexter; 5 grandchildren, Andrew King, Elisha Crispell, Amanda, Rachel Hayden and Timothy Lamoreau; a great grandson, McKynzie Allen-King; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and her husband, Ramona and Douglas Ellison; a favorite cousin, Clayton Carr and his wife Marian. He was predeceased by 5 brothers, Ernest, Raymond, Clarence, Floyd and Weldon and a sister, Winnifred Anderson.

Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Friday, February 1st, at the Garland Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Buzzell officiating. A time for fellowship for family and friends, will be held at the Garland Grange Hall following the service. Spring burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Garland.
