ABBOT - Charles "Chuck" R. Titcomb, 56, died Oct. 4, 2001, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Dexter, the son of Franklin B. and Leta (Sawyer) Titcomb. Chuck graduated from PCHS, Class of 1963, and the University of Maine, Class of 1965, where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He joined the U.S. Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam as a movement specialist. Chuck and his wife owned and operated CRT Small Engine Repair in Abbot and Titcomb's Country Store in Sangerville. Upon selling the store, Chuck went to work for International Paper Company, CM&E crew. At the time of his death, he was a successful real estate salesman with North Country Properties in Abbot. Chuck was a past member of the Sangerville Fire Department, Conner Trafton American Legion Post No. 119, Mount Kineo Lodge No. 109 AF & AM, Guilford-Sangerville Sewer Board, Abbot Comprehensive Planning Board, Abbot Historical Society, and the R.W. Titcomb Recreation Committee.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rochelle (Morin) Titcomb of Abbot; two children, SSG Charles A. Titcomb of Camp Stanley, South Korea, and Julie Titcomb of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Beverly T. Bridge of Abbot, and his twin, Charlene Stultz and her husband, Barry of Waterboro; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, Ralph.

Friends are invited to call 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where a memorial service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8. Burial will be in the family lot in Gray Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the R.W. Titcomb Memorial Fund, care of Town of Abbot, P.O. Box 120, Abbot 04406.
