CHARLES RAYMOND CLUKEY
ST. ALBANS Charles Raymond Clukey, 97, died November 10, 2001 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born July 27, 1904 at Winn the son of Charles and Margaret (Preston) Clukey. He spent his early years in Winn, moving to
East Holden where he married Mabel (Keezer) Clukey May 26, 1938. He worked in the woods for many years as
a teamster and scaler. Raymond was also a private chauffeur for a number of distinguished people, including Eleanor Roosevelt, while he worked for WABI during the 40's and 50's. He also worked as a security guard at Harvard University, but most of all, he was a teacher to his children. Charles and Mabel lived at Sunshine
Village in Corinna before moving to Fair Haven Terrace in St. Albans.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years; 6 children, Dorothy Peters and her husband Glen, Maurice Clukey, Charles Clukey and his wife Karen, all of St. Albans, Philip Clukey and his wife Jeannette of Ripley, Kenneth Clukey of Caribou, and Barbara Fitzpatrick of Oregon;
14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
There will be no viewing. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 13th, at Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.
