CHARLOTTE L. ROLLINS
GARLAND – Charlotte (Lowell) Rollins, 88, beloved wife of the late Fred E. Rollins, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2001 at a Dexter health care center. She was born December 9, 1912 in Orland the daughter of the late Ralph and Frieda (Simpson) Lowell. Charlotte moved with her family to Dexter in her early years and graduated as valedictorian of her class from N. H. Fay High School. She married Fred in 1934 and worked with his family running Rollins Orchards. She was a 4-H leader while the children were young. Later Charlotte always made time for her grandchildren and her many cats. She attended the Garland Community Baptist Church and was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Carol Rollins, Sandra and her husband James Thomas all of Garland, (Shirley) Jeanne and her husband, Norman Gould of Wilton, and one son, Ralph and his wife, Jean Rollins of Garland; 3 sisters and a brother, Thelma and her husband, (Warren) Skip Allen of Elliot and Bradenton, FL, Bradley and his wife Beauford Lowell of Camden, Molly Rowe of Andover, MA, Joyce and her husband Richard Mitchell of Nashua, NH; eight grandchildren, Alyce and her husband Bill Masters of Bangor, Mary Thomas, Kevin and his wife Shari Thomas, Terry and his wife Nancy Thomas, and Ernest Rollins, all of Garland, Margaret and her husband Nate Daku of Indianapolis, IN, Marcia Gould of Duluth, GA, and Nathan Gould of Wilton; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, January 13th, at the Garland Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Buzzell officiating. Spring burial will be in West Garland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to an animal shelter or humane society of one’s choice.
