CHESTER J. BRAGG SR
MILO - Chester J. Bragg Sr., 84, husband of June (Lancaster) Bragg, died June 14, 2002, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born March 24, 1918, in Staceyville, the son of Arthur L. and Katherine (Davis) Bragg. In his early years, he had worked as a river driver and at area lumber mills. He was then employed by the B&A Railroad as a conductor, retiring in 1978 after 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and operated Chet's Bait Shop in Milo for many years. An avid golfer, he will be missed by his golfing buddies. He was a 53 year member of Piscataquis Lodge No. 44 AF & AM and had received his 50 year pin.

Chet is survived by his wife of 63 years, June of Milo; three sons, Chester Jr. and his wife, Ann, Jack and his wife, Cathy and Bud and his wife, Angela, all of Milo; a daughter, Audrey Chadwick of Old Town; a niece, Linda Briggs of Colorado; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Randy Chadwick; two brothers, Leland and Burton; four half brothers, Stan, George, Woodrow and Phillip Wells; and a half sister, Blanche Hixon.

Friends are invited to call 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with Masonic services said at 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the funeral home. A memorial committal service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002, at the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery.
