DALE MACLAUCHLAN
LAKELAND, Fla. - Dale MacLauchlan, 76, died Dec. 29, 2005, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center from cancer. He was born June 2, 1929, in Fort Fairfield. Dale was a truck driver for Mobile Oil. He owned Ledyard Oil Company in Ledyard, Conn. for 10 years. Dale loved woodworking and won first prize in many of his woodworks. He loved to camp, square dance and play shuffleboard. He was an avid cribbage player, where he won medals in Polk County senior games and was a tournament judge. He was a member of Mason Lodge in Norwich, Conn., Kathleen Lodge in Lakeland, Fla., Preston Congregational Church in Preston, Conn. and a member of the Nimrod Grotto Clown Unit for 25 years, which raised funds for Shriners Childrens Hospital Burn Unit.

He is survived by his wife, Jean B. MacLauchlan; daughter, Vonda and Matthew Tencza of Berlin, Conn.; son, Shaun MacLauchlan of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Marilyn and Byron Wiers of Palmyra; brother, Donn and Mary Jane MacLauchlan of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Kimberly Tencza of Berlin, Conn.; and cousin, Nancy Fisher of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Clubhouse at Shalimar Creek, 4500 U.S. HWY 92 East, No. 130, Lakeland, Fla., with a reception to follow. A Masonic memorial service will be held 11 a.m. May 6, at Preston City Congregational Church.
