DORIS (PLUMMER) TOWLE
DEXTER, Doris (Plummer) Towle, 78, wife of Fay E. Towle, died December 22, 2002, at a Dover-Foxcroft Hospital. She was born March 9, 1924, in Newport, daughter of George and Florence E. (Larrabee) Plummer. She attended Newport schools and graduated from Newport High School class of 1942. She worked as a telephone operator, librarian, and at King Cummings Mill. Later she worked for many years at Dexter Shoe Company in Dexter. She loved to go camping and fishing and loved to play Bingo. Doris spent many hours in her lawn swing enjoying the outdoors.

She is survived by her loving husband of Dexter; two daughters, Betty-Jean and her husband, Douglas Mills Sr. and Melanie Towle and her partner Annette Cormier; two grandchildren, Cassandra Dyson and Douglas Mills Jr.; a great grandson, Scott Robinson, all of Dexter; a sister, Priscilla and her husband, Wilton Deveraux of Augusta; several nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Robert.

At her request there will be no public services. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
