DOROTHY A. NELSON
DEXTER - Dorothy Althea Nelson, 76, died September 29, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Corinna after a long illness. She was born July 26, 1924 at Dexter the daughter of Henry and Sarah (O'Dell) Dunn. She graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1942. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, the Dexter Women's Literary Club and the Dexter Public Health Association. She worked for many years at the Ben Franklin Store in Dexter.

Dot is survived by her husband Spurgeon Nelson of Dexter; a son and his wife, Dennis and Julie Nelson of Corinna; 2 daughters, Rebecca Pitcher of Corinna, Roberta and her husband Rodney Scott of Garland; 7 grandchildren, Stephen and wife Brenda Pitcher of Kernersville, NC, Michael and wife Gina Pitcher, Jeffrey and wife Cristie Pitcher, all of Corinna, Billy Webber, Kevin and wife Nicci Webber, all of Garland, Lori and husband Scott Adkins of Charleston, and Heidi Nelson of Corinna; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Erwin Dunn.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday, October 2nd, at the First Baptist Church of Dexter with the Rev. John "Jay" Brennan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
