DOUGLAS HOWARD "JOE" APPLEBEE
MILLINOCKET - Douglas Howard Applebee, 63, loving husband of Lillian (Lovejoy) Applebee for more than 31 years, died Dec. 10, 2001, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 5, 1938, in Brownville, the son of Clouse D. and Barbara (Rolfe) Applebee. He was better known in Brownville as Joe. He was a graduate of 1959 in Brownville. He attended Husson College and was a graduate of the Skowhegan Business College. He worked for Great Northern Paper Co. and later Bowater Inc. in the mills in Millinocket and East Millinocket. He was past master of the Pleasant River Masonic Lodge No. 163 AF & AM. A member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites Lodge Council Chapter, Valley of Bangor and the Valley of Portland Consistory. He was a member of A.A.O.N.M.S. Anah Shrine Temple in Bangor and past secretary of the Past Masters Unit of Anah Temple. He was past secretary and treasurer of the Ebeeme Horseshoe Pond Rd. Association.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian of Millinocket; one son, Frank D. of Millinocket; one daughter, Mary B. of Florida; three adopted children, Patricia L. of South Portland, Albert T. of New Hampshire and Tanya M. of Millinocket; three grandchildren, Christopher, Aman-da and Scott; one brother, Ralph Applebee of Brownville; one sister, Shirley Nichols of Chester; three sons-in-law, Aundrey, Kurt and Shawn; several nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was predeceased by one grandson, Kurt Alexander Lyons; one brother, Roger Applebee and one sister, Ruth Leeman.

Services will be held in the spring. Friends are invited to call at the family home in Millinocket.
