EDITH LUCY (CARD) NORTHUP
HARMONY, Edith Lucy (Card) Northup, 89, passed away March 10, 2010, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft, after a long illness. She was born September 19, 1920 in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, daughter of William and Lucy Card. On May 18, 1940, she married Harry L. Northup, and raised four sons. She worked many years operating and managing a textile store in North Kingstown, RI, before moving to Maine. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, search word puzzles, and growing a garden each year and harvesting it in the Fall. As her health deteriorated, her son Richard was there for her every need. She will be greatly missed by her family and extended family for all the hearts she touched during her life. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Harry.

She is survived by her four sons, Richard and William of Harmony, James and wife Debbie of Wellington, and A. Stuart and wife Brenda of Alaska; two step children, Joan Banks of Dexter, and Harry Northup Jr. of West Hartford, CT; loving grandchildren, Shelly Northup, Janet Nicholas, Linda Robinson, Stuart Northup, Steven Northup, David Northup, and Dennis Northup; two step granddaughters, Jennifer and Kathy; her remaining sibling, Sarah Hunt of Coventry, RI; many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and three lifetime friends, Mary Richards of Wellington, Becky Hocking of Dexter, and Dee Kettelle of RI.
