EDWARD L. BLANCHARD
MONSON- Edward L. Blanchard, Sr. 84, died March 17, 2008, at his home in Monson. He was born February 12, 1924, in Franklin, Massachusetts, son of George and Clara (Jordan) Blanchard. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Philippines, and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. After the war he lived and worked in Franklin, Massachusetts for most of his life, retiring to Monson, Maine.

He is survived by his wife, Grace (Cook) Blanchard of Monson; 4 sons, Edward Jr. and his wife, Terry of Bingham, ME, Everett and his fiancée, Joy of NC, James and his wife, Beverly of Strong, ME, and Raymond of Monson, ME; 3 daughters, Sheila Shumaker of Arkansas, Verna Mann of Milo, and Phyllis Moody and her husband, William of TN; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
