OBITUARIES

Eileen Frances (Curtin) Pushor
GUILFORD- Eileen Frances (Curtin) Pushor joined her beloved Donald on October 22, 2012. Eileen was born on May 19, 1938 in Boston MA. Eileen had a very challenging beginning to life. She was placed as a ward of the state shortly after her birth and remained that way for the first five years of her life. At this age she was lovingly adopted by David and June Curtin of Braintree, MA. They provided great stability and love to a child that had not seen it in her early years.

Eileen flourished in that care and quickly developed into a precocious child with an eye for the boys as her father once wrote. She enjoyed her formative years in the greater Boston school system and summering on the Cape providing child care in her teen years.

It was as a late teen she found the love of her life, Don. He was a freshly minted dashing pharmacy school graduate from Pittsfield ME. At the age of 19, she was swept off her feet. They were married one month after his graduation from the MA College of Pharmacy on June 14, 1957. Their honeymoon was a short 3 day rain-soaked adventure in a makeshift tent at Rum Point on Lower Wilson Pond. Little did they know what this spot would be to them throughout their lives.

The young urbanite learned quickly that Maine life was very different than greater Boston. Her loving mother- in-law adopted her as her own and taught her quickly the ways of Maine life. Eileen was most proud of family and supporting Don in his many successes. Her support allowed them to work toward their dream of their owning their own store. In 1969 this dream became reality and they were able to buy and run Ross Drug Store in Guilford for 30 years. She worked side by side with him daily, ran a household, and raised five children.

Eileen was very much a community person, very involved with church, social organizations, youth teams and clubs. Eileen will be remembered for her quick wit, and personal library of jokes and pranks that she shared with community members. One of her most memorable times is her creation and direction of the Kiwanis variety shows. Eileen was an accomplished artist and voracious reader.

She and Don will now continue eternity at camp on Lower Wilson Pond, which was their special place where they summered for 52 years.

Eileen was predeceased by husband, Donald and daughter, Terri. She is survived by Donn and wife, Katie of Lebanon, and Shawn and wife, Anita of Abbot, Kim of Wiscassett, and Christian of Bradley, as well as 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
