ELBRIDGE HERRING CONNER
NEWPORT, GREENVILLE & PARKMAN – Elbridge Herring Conner, 75, died December 20, 2002 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born August 2, 1927 at Sangerville a son of Weldon and Mildred (Brown) Conner. Elbridge grew up in Sangerville and attended local schools. He served in the U. S. Army and later worked as a machinist at Fay & Scott Machine Shop in Dexter, as well as the James River Corporation and Great Northern Paper Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, and was a member of the American Legion. He will be remembered as an avid Democrat and relished a good political debate.

He is survived by his children, Robert Conner and wife Kathryn of Moreno Valley, CA, Rinda Varnum and husband Richard of Sebec, Shawn Conner of Jensen Beach, Florida, Casey Conner and wife MariLou of Saipan, Marianna Islands, and Aletha Hidden and husband Hans of Bussum, Netherlands; 2 brothers, Neil and wife, Judy Conner of Hayward, CA and Bernard and wife Priscilla Conner of Norridgewock; 20 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a special friend Mabel Bradford of Newport.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, with the Rev. George Darling officiating. Friends may call from 1 P.M. until the time of services. Spring burial will be in Jackman Corner Cemetery, Sangerville.
