ELILA A. HENDERSON
EXETER, Elila A. Henderson, 89, went to be with her Jesus on October 25, 2002. At the time of her passing, she was staying with her sister, Ida Szortak, in Westbrook.Elila was born in Aroostook County September 1, 1913, daughter of Clarence and Lillie (Burleigh) Rockwell, and later moved to Exeter.She married Millard Henderson, December 1, 1928 and together they had four children.Elila was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Exeter for many years and she attended the Apostolic Bible Church in Newport.She worked at Baxter’s in Corinna before it burned.She loved plants and gardening and eating out with her family.She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Millard Henderson, a son, Robert Henderson, a granddaughter, Bunnie Blair, and a grandson, Maynard Curtis.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Margaret and Conway Andrews and Stella and Perley Curtis all of Exeter; a son and his wife, Harold and Frances Henderson of Garland.She was Grammie to 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Ida Szortak, Fluffy Winslow both of Westbrook and Hazel Robichaud of Newport. She will remain in the broken hearts of her loving family forever.

Private funeral services for all family members will be held at 10 AM Tuesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna with Rev. Jackie Willhoite of Newport officiating. Calling hours will be omitted.Burial will be in the Morses Corner Cemetery in Corinna.
