Elinor Jeannette (Thompson) Vigue
DEXTER- Elinor Jeannette (Thompson) Vigue, 82, died peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012, at Hibbardís Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born in Bangor, August 14, 1929, the daughter of Thurston and Avis (Arnold) Thompson. Shortly after graduating from Brewer High School in 1947, she married Roger Floyd Vigue from Dexter (February 21, 1948). For many years she worked as a CNA at Plummer Memorial Hospital and Dexter Nursing Home, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family and seeing her sons married and raise families of their own. Before becoming ill in her later years, she loved camping, snowmobiling, and watching birds feed in the many flower gardens and feeders lovingly placed around her home. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Elinor is survived by two sons and their wives, Douglas and Donna Vigue of Dexter and Gregory and Boon Vigue of Jacksonville, Alabama; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Vigue) Clark of South China; Stacey (Vigue) Haskell of Hampden; Eric Vigue of Winslow; Suporn Sawatpong of Thailand; Susan Vigue of Elkridge, Maryland; and Debbie Vigue of Tarpon Springs, Florida; as well as two step-grandchildren, Steven Pratt, Jr., of Pennsylvania and Mandi Pratt Chapman of Virginia; three great grandchildren, Emma and Gracyn Haskell and Aiden Clark; four great step-grandchildren, Marissa and Noah Pratt and Marie and Iris Chapman; and dear friend Jane Call of Exeter. She was predeceased by her son Dennis; her parents; her brother Douglas; and her husband Roger of 61 years.

A celebration of Elinorís life will occur at a graveside memorial service to be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter in the spring. Those who wish to remember Elinor in a special way are encouraged to send donations in lieu of flowers to Hibbardís Nursing Home, P.O. Box 150, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426, where she was well taken care of for the past two and a half years by loving and caring staff.

Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter. Those who wish may leave written condolences at
