OBITUARIES

ELIZABETH F. "BETTY" AMES
GREENVILLE JCT.- Elizabeth F. "Betty" Ames, 80, died November 7, 2011, at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. She was born November 6, 1931, in Boston, daughter of William and Alice (Folsom) Palmer.

She graduated from Greenville High School, class of 1949, and then completed the Master Mechanics course at the Wiggins School of Aviation in Norwood, Mass. Betty also received her pilots license and served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol. In 1951 she married Donald C. Ames, and they made their home in Greenville. Betty enjoyed working with wood, reading, sewing, doing Sudoku puzzles, and operating her HAM radio.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Stewart and her husband, Clayton of Greenville Jct., a son, Ralph Ames and his wife, Kristi of Sapulpa, OK; 4 granddaughters, Melissa and Jennifer, both of Lisbon, and Rebecca and Tonya, both of Sapulpa, OK; a half sister, Barbara Brush of Basking Ridge, NJ; a half brother, William L. Palmer III of Denver, CO; several great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, November 19, 2011, at the Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Greenville. For an online guest register, go to www.CrosbyNeal.com.
