ELIZABETH "LIZZIE" KILBY
NEWPORT - Lizzie Kilby, 79, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at a local nursing home after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born January 7, 1930 in Bangor, a daughter of the late Peter and Annie (Campbell) Cody. She was one of 6 sisters and was a graduate of Ashland High School. Lizzie shared 58 years of marriage with Charles A. Kilby. She devoted her life to her husband and raising their 3 children. When her children were young she was active in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and teaching Sunday school in the Methodist church. She was a member of the Lioness Club and participated in women's bowling leagues. Lizzie enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts.

In addition to her husband of Newport, she is survived by 3 children, Gary and wife Carlene of Old Orchard Beach, Jerry and wife Leisa of Frankfurt, Kentucky, Betty and husband Peter Stone of Enfield; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 6th, at Crosby & Neal, Newport, with the Rev. Joan DeSanctis officiating. Spring burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 170 US Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME 04105.
