ELLA (DAY) WOODS
NEWPORT – Ella (Day) Woods, 46, died April 5, 2003 at her Highland Avenue residence following a long illness. She was born April 28, 1956 at Ellsworth a daughter of Holman and Mabel (Cummings) Day, Sr. She was employed as a C.N.A. at several area nursing homes. She was a member of the Salvation Army, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Newport; and was a past member of that church in Bangor.

She is survived by a son Brian of Newport; a daughter Shallon of Portland; 3 brothers Victor Day of Hancock, Abraham Day of Penobscot, and Holman Day, Jr. of Florida; a sister Jessie Nevells of Blue Hill; and a dear friend, Sandy Engstrom of Newport; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother James.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 162 Elm Street, Newport, 6 P.M. Tuesday, April 8th. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.
