ELSIE K. (WOODBURY) LEAVITT
GREENVILLE - Elsie K. (Woodbury) Leavitt, 99, of Greenville, formerly of Newburyport and Beverly, Mass., died Jan. 20, 2004, at the Charles Dean Memorial Nursing Home in Greenville. She was the wife of the late Everett P. Leavitt who died Jan. 12, 1995. She was born July 14, 1904, in Beverly, Mass., the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Phillip) Woodbury and was a graduate of Lynn High School, Class of 1922. Mrs. Leavitt was the past treasurer of the Essex Tool and Die Co., of Salisbury, Mass. A member of Laurel Hill Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Past Matron in 1949, she was also a member of the Newburyport Women's Club and the Unitarian Church of Newburyport.

She is survived by her son Richard Leavitt and wife, Marilyn, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Alan W. Leavitt and wife, Lydia, of Medford, Mass.; Scott R. Leavitt of Pasadena, Calif., and Elizabeth Reith and husband, Howard, of Lee, N.H.; three great-grandchildren, Charles Morrill IV, Nichole Morrill and Alexander C. Leavitt; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date to be announced by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Homes, 35 Green St., Newburyport. Springtime interment will be in Central Cemetery, Beverly, Mass. By request of the family, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsie's honor to the Charles Dean Memorial Nursing Home, Greenville.
