OBITUARIES

EUNICE A. POLLARD
CORINNA - Eunice Schenck (Ahrens) Pollard, 100, died peacefully in her sleep on October 20, 2008 in the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law in Corinna. She was born on October 6, 1908 in Montclair, New Jersey, the daughter of Henri and Eunice (Schenck) Ahrens. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite pastime was to travel. She traveled throughout the United States including Hawaii, but also to Canada, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong with friends and family. She instilled a love of travel to her granddaughters and took them on trips during their school vacations. She also accompanied their Girl Scout troops on their trips in the states and the Caribbean. Her last trip was 5 years ago, at age 95, to Alaska with her daughter.

She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Pollard, her son John F. Pollard, Jr, her brother Richard Ahrens, and two sisters, Marion Warner and Gertrude Dyson. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle and husband Paul Talbot of Corinna; her granddaughters, Julie and Elizabeth Talbot of Southborough, MA, and Janet Talbot of Uxbridge, MA; her daughter-in-law Muslimah Pollard, and her grandson, Alexander Pollard, both of Haleiwa, HI.

Interment will be at Long Island National Cemetery in New York. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna. Those who wish may sign an on-line guest book and leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
