EUNICE V. FINLEY
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Eunice V. Finley, 79, beloved wife of Roland "Bud" Finley, died Nov. 27, 2006, with her family by her side at her residence. She was born April 22, 1927, in Greenville, the daughter of Percival H. and Ella M. (McLaughlin) Smith. Eunice was active in community affairs for many years. She was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chadbourne Merrill American Legion Post No. 29 and had held several appointed offices for the past presidents of the Ladies Auxiliary Department of Maine. She was a member of the Women's Community Garden Club, the Junior Cosmopolitan Club, and she also enjoyed her volunteer work at Togus Veterans' Hospital. Eunice will be remembered for her loyal dedication throughout the past 29 years in organizing and directing the annual Christmas craft fair at SeDoMoCha Middle School, Dover-Foxcroft.

She is survived by her husband, Roland "Bud" Finley of Dover-Foxcroft; a son, David Lee Finley of Dover-Foxcroft; two sisters, Louise Hint of Niantic, Conn., and Nathalie Jones of West Farmington; two sisters-in-law, Lois Hardy of Enfield, Conn., and Romayne Smith of Truckie, Calif.; three brothers, Ralph and his wife, Doris, of Bristol, Conn., Adolph and his wife, Barbara, of Abbot and Percival "Sonny" and his wife, Takeko, of Herman; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Seldon Hardy and James Smith; and three sisters, Lucille Porter, Myrtle Wentworth and Marilyn Finley. Friends are invited to call 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, until time of funeral service 1 p.m. at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Heather Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Gray Cemetery.
