PARKMAN & NEWPORT Evelyn J. McKenney, 95, died September 26, 2001 at her McKenney Road residence in Parkman. She was born January 17, 1906 at Newport the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Havner) Hinton. She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1925. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her faith was an inspiration to all with whom she came in contact. She will be remembered for her many acts of selfless giving, her tireless energy to serve her family, and as a prayer warrior. She was a member of the Cambridge Baptist Church.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Charles, Sr., a son Tommy, and a daughter Theo Jacobson. She is survived by 7 sons, Charles and his wife Annie, Dale and wife Vicki, Anthony and wife Lana, David M. and wife Christine, all of Parkman, Lawrence and wife Shari of Falmouth, Peter and wife Sharon of Harmony, C. William and wife Lena of Milbridge; 5 daughters, Sally and her husband Ronald Hughes of St. Albans, Joeline and husband William Inman of S. Portland, Arolin and husband John Cogswell of Knox, Donna and husband Nelson Sheppard of Cumberland, RI, Patricia and husband Ivan Fletcher, Jr. of Attleboro, MA; a sister, Phyllis Guthrie of Pelham, NH; 36 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a devoted caretaker of 11 years, Charlene Cooley.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, September 29th, at the Cambridge Baptist Church with the Rev. William Inman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Memorial donations may be made to the New England Bible College, or Blueberry Mountain Bible Camp, c/o Mrs. Sally Hughes, P.O. Box 158, St. Albans 04971.
