FLORENCE H. HARTFORD
CARMEL & PORTLAND – Florence H. Hartford, 92, died August 17, 2003. She was born September 18, 1910 at Carmel a daughter of William and Sabra (Perry) Miller. She graduated from Carmel High School, Class of 1932. Florence had worked as a leather cutter in a number of shoe shops, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Washington Avenue Congregational Church in Portland, before moving back to central Maine.

She is survived by 2 nephews, Frank Miller of Trenton and West Tremont, and Linwood Miller of Mass. She was predeceased by a niece, Esther Tilton, and a grand niece Dorothy Morton, both of Pittsfield. She will also be remembered by her dear friend, the Rev. Father C. James Martel.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, August 22nd, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden of the High Street Congregational Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of services. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
