Frances May "Ginger Mae" Dyer
She was named “Top Yodeler of The Year” in Branson, Missouri; belonged to the Academy of Country Music and the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame. She was also a member of the Dusters Antique Car Club.
She is survived by 4 sons, James, Jr. and wife Patricia of Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel and Donald Dyer, both of Corinna, and Pastor Darrell and wife Paula of Charleston; 2 sisters-in-law, Caroline Annis of Corinna, and Kathleen Dyer of Bangor; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece and her husband, Mary Ellen and Richard Small. She will be fondly remembered by dear friends, Ken Wentworth, “Buck” Bisbee, Marion White, Nat Jackson, Gloria Jean Stikes, Betty Gribin, Ruby Story, Everard Dodge, Brian Gelina, Yogi and Lolalee Dillingham. She was predeceased by her husband, James, Sr. and by a daughter, Judith Jordan.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 5th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, May5t at the Pleasant Street Christian Church, Corinna, with Pastor Michael Troyer, and her son Darrell officiating. Burial will be in the Nutter Cemetery, Corinna.
