FRANCIS G. MCBAY
NEWPORT – Francis G. McBay, 78, died August 8, 2000 at a Pittsfield hospital.He was born in Somerville, Mass. the son of William and Margaret (Boudreau) McBay. He lived in Somerville for most of his life, resided for a time in Westford, Mass., and moved to Newport 14 years ago. Prior to his retirement, Francis was employed as a union truck driver for Hemingway Transportation for 30 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local #25.

He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Ward) McBay, grandson, Scott McBay, and brothers William McBay and Walter McBay. He is survived by his loving companion, Edna Chambers of Newport; children, George McBay and his wife Cheryl of Gulfport, FL, Francis J. McBay and his wife Diane of Wilmington, Mass., Marjorie Dearborn and her husband Richard of Nashua, NH, Sandra Marchetti and her husband William of Cambridge, Mass., Judy Bearfield and her husband Jay also of Gulfport, FL; sisters Ruth Loveliss and her husband Richard of Somerville, Mass., and Laura Carty of Rhode Island; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Friday at W. S. Cavanaugh & Son Funeral Home, 374 Main Street (Rt. 38), Wilmington, Mass.The funeral will be from the funeral home at 8:45 AM Saturday, with a funeral mass at St. Dorothy’s Church at 10 AM. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield, Mass.
