GEORGE MARSHALL LAWLER
HARMONY George Marshall Lawler, 77, died February 16, 2002 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Facility in Skowhegan. He was born August 1, 1924 at Oakfield a son of Marshall and Virgie (Shorey) Lawler. He married the former Madeline Giles of Harmony in 1943. He had worked for many years in bridge construction for Joe McEaron and the Farrin Brothers and was especially proud of his work on the new Harmony bridge. He also worked for Hoyt Hall in construction and finished his career working in the woods.

He was predeceased by his wife, a son James, a daughter Eleanor "Susie" Lovely, 2 brothers, Frank and Freeland, 2 sisters, Freda Fanjoy and Alice Harriman. George is survived by 3 sons, Keith and wife Ruby of Norridgewock, Allen and wife Donna of Oklahoma, Larry and wife Sandra of Harmony; 5 brothers, Maurice of California, Hector and wife Estha of Oklahoma, James and wife Phyllis, Earle and wife Nancy, all of Harmony, and Charles of Palmyra; 2 sisters, Eva Butler and Waneta Neal, both of St. Albans, and a sister-in-law, Helen Parker of Skowhegan; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Sadie.

Funeral services will be held 6 P.M. Wednesday, February 20th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:30 to 6 PM. Spring burial will be in the South Road Cemetery, Harmony.
