OBITUARIES

GERALD E. DYER
DOVER-FOXCROFT- Gerald E. Dyer, 72, died June 10, 2011, at his home in Dover-Foxcroft, following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Atkinson, April 20, 1939, son of George and Maryann (Cowette) Dyer. He worked at Hathaway Shirt Company in Dover-Foxcroft for many years and later for Moosehead Manufacturing in Dover-Foxcroft. He was a member of the Horseman's Association, and enjoyed training and riding horses. Gerald was also a member of the Piscataquis Fair Association. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time at his camp at Alder Stream.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sara (Bouley) Dyer of Dover-Foxcroft; 2 children, Cara Connors and her husband, Dan of Sebec, and Bonnie Church and her husband, Rusty of Guilford; 2 grandchildren, Amber Connors of Dover-Foxcroft and Justin Connors of Sebec; a great grandson, Cody Chambers of Dover-Foxcroft; 17 brothers and sisters, Shirley Clark of FL, Lula Pratt, Louise Aspinwall, Christine Burgess, Lorraine Cotta, Elaine Dyer, Thomas Dyer, and Kathy Pelky all of Guilford, George Dyer Jr. of NH, Muriel Henderson , Deborah Hanson, and Paul Dyer, all of MA, Michael Dyer, Loretta Clukey, and Alan Dyer, all of Dover-Foxcroft, Dwight Edgerly of Pownal, and Lawrence Dyer of Atkinson; many nieces and nephews.

At his request, no public services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Hoofs-n-Hearts, P.O.
