GERALD EDWARD SPENCER
BENTON - Gerald Edward Spencer, 90, died December 24, 2011 at a Waterville health care center. He was born February 23, 1921 in Benton, a son of Edward and Ella (Gerald) Spencer. Gerald was a self employed contractor and entrepreneur, having been involved in many business and financial endeavors throughout his life. He was a member of Siloam #92 Masonic Lodge, Augusta Valley Scottish Rite, Lodge Council Chapter, the Korah Shrine and the Benton Grange. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ardria "Jo" (Nash) in 2010.

He is survived by his God son and wife, Douglas and Diane Franklin and their children, Andrew and Zachary, all of Newport; several nieces and nephews, including David West, Gina and husband A. J. Henderson, all of Benton; and Daniel and wife Cindy Nutt of Waterford, CT.

A graveside funeral with Masonic rites will be held in the spring at Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
