OBITUARIES

HAROLD W. LELAND
SANGERVILLE- Harold W. Leland, 82, died December 19, 2010, at his home in Sangerville. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft, January 30, 1928, son of Elmer and Erma (Bridges) Leland.

He served in the US Navy during WWII. He and his wife owned and operated their farm in E. Sangerville, where they raised seed potatoes and dairy cows. Harold worked for a few years for Agway in Dover-Foxcroft, and later worked as an Executive Director for the Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1988.

He was a Past Master and 50 year member of Abner Wade Masonic Lodge in Sangerville. Harold was active in town affairs and has served as a Selectman for the past 6 years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline "Polly" (Andrews) Leland in 2008.

He is survived by two sons, David Leland of Sangerville, and James Leland of Brewer; a daughter, Jolene Wickett and her husband, Paul of Bradford; five grandchildren, Anna Bryer and her husband, Garrett of Bradford, Scott Leland and his girlfriend, Rose of Sangerville, Michelle Weeks and her husband, Tim of Parkman, Ronald Leland of Bangor, and Jessica Hayes of Orland; six great grandchildren, Macy and Danielle Weeks, Owen and Benjamin Leland, Chase Bryer, and Kelly Colcord; several nieces and nephews.

A Masonic graveside service will be held in the spring at the Knowlton Mills Cemetery in Sangerville.
