CORINNA Heidi Renee Nelson, 26, died September 11, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident on I-95. She was born December 29, 1974 at Bangor the daughter of Dennis D. and Julie E. (Stevens) Nelson. She graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1993, where she actively participated in the various bands, basketball, softball and the Key Club. She attended the University of Maine at Farmington and, later, Eastern Maine Technical College. She was employed as a wholesaler at the Goodwrench Pro Shop in Bangor.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, and her dog Abby, are a maternal grandmother, Zelma Stevens of Monson; paternal grandfather, Spurgeon Nelson of Dexter; aunts and uncles, Charles and Gail Stevens of Newport, Robert and Susan Stevens of Pittstown, NJ, Kent Stevens of Monson, Rodney and Roberta Scott of Garland, Rebecca Pitcher of Corinna; many cousins and special girl friends; great aunts and uncles; and a special friend, Jeff Norris and his son Ian of Stetson.

Friends may call from 7- 9 P.M. Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday, September 14th at the Corinna United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terrence McKinley officiating. Burial will be in Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to American Diabetes Association, 10 Bangor Street, Suite F, Augusta, ME 04338-2208, or may be left at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home in Newport.
