JANICE D. JOHNSON
NEWPORT - Janice D. Johnson, 58, died December 7, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. She was born December 22, 1942 at Newport the daughter of Robert and Olive (Stevenson) Palmer. She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1961. She had worked in Newport and Massachusetts shoe shops. During her last 5 years residing in Mass. she was employed as a group leader for C. R. Bard Medical Supplies in Lowell. Janice moved back to Newport in 1991, retiring from the Edwards Company in Pittsfield due to ill health. She was predeceased by her father Robert Palmer, and a twin sister, Joyce Dana Palmer.

She is survived by her mother, Olive Palmer of Newport; 3 sisters, Donna Jude Albert of Livermore Falls, Sally Leighton of Bangor, and Penny Flood of Newport; nieces, Sherry Jude, Shelly Lux, Elizabeth Flood, and Vanessa Leighton; nephews Robert W. Jude and Vance Leighton.

Family visitation will be private. Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside committal service 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 11th, at Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the High Street Church, in care of Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, ME 04953.
