JOHN KERR, SR.
SHIRLEY—John Kerr, Sr., 80, died November 29, 2010 at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 14, 1930 in Boston, MA a son of John and Sally (Carmichael) Kerr. He graduated from Hudson High School in Massachusetts, Class of 1948. He enlisted in the U. S. Army from 1948 to 1952, serving in Korea. Upon discharge from the military he went to photography school in Vermont and after graduating was employed by Color Picture Publisher of Boston. He travelled the country taking color post card pictures, many of the Sebago Lake region in the 1960’s and 1970’s. After he retired, John ran Eagles Edge, an embroidery and ornament business. He made gold plated ornaments of his own design specializing in celtic designs. He was a member of the New Life Church in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley “Milly” Kerr; 2 sons, John Kerr, Jr. and David and wife Debbie Kerr; a step-son, Ken and June Gaucher ; 4 grandchildren, Dan and Meghan Gaucher and David and Jason Kerr.
There will be no public services. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
