JOSEPH A. NORMANDO
NEWPORT - Joseph Amedee Normando, 82, died March 19, 2002 at the USVA hospital in Togus. He was born June 19, 1919 at Mexico the son of Amedee Joseph and Anna (Granger) Normandeau. Joseph served in the 4th Armored Division, European Theatre, U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, and it's related organizations.

He is survived by his wife Eleanor (Hart) Normando of Newport; 3 daughters, Brenda and husband Henry Thompson of Friendship, Evelyn Normando of Newport, Nancy and husband Gary Ricker of North Yarmouth; grandchildren, Shannon and Michelle Blossom, Henry Thompson, Jr. and wife Carolyn, and Peni-Jo Reed and husband Jesse; great grandchildren Brianna and Abby Johnson, Travis and Taylah Reed, Henry III, Ashley, Caleb, and Trevor Thompson.

At the family's request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held later in the spring at the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with Father Raymond Morency officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.
