JOSEPH D. TRIPALDI
ST. ALBANS, Joseph D. Tripaldi, 90, died Feb. 24, 2001 at his home in St. Albans. He was born May 27, 1910, in Torrington, Connecticut, son of Vincent and Maria (Lavarlo) Tripaldi. During WWII, he worked for American
Brass in Torrington, and later served as First Selectman and Road Commissioner in Harwinton, Connecticut. He moved to Florida and was an inhalation and orthopedic therapist at Winter Park Memorial. In 1972 Joe moved to St. Albans and served as cemetery sexton for 20 years. He was a member of Corinthian #95 AF&AM, Evening Star #189 OES and the Hartland Full Gospel Church all of Hartland. He was also a member the Hartland-St.
Albans Senior Citizens.
He was predeceased by his wife, Wilda (Lynn) Tripaldi in 1994. He is survived by a brother, Dominico Anthony Tripaldi of Torrington, Connecticut; a niece Joan Uricchio and two nephews, Vincent Battistoni and John Battistoni all of Connecticut. He was also survived by special friends, Richard and Pat Weymouth of St. Albans who helped to care for him.
Friends may call 6-8 PM Monday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport. Masonic graveside services will be held in the spring at the Crocker Cemetery in St. Albans.
