JOSEPHINE M. JOHNSTON
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Josephine M. (Dewitt) Johnston, 86, wife of the late J. Arthur Johnston, died March 9, 2002, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born in Weston, N.B., Canada, July 3, 1915, the daughter of Parker and Mazie (Harris) Dewitt. She took great pride in her flower gardens and she enjoyed working on crafts and making quilts.

Josie is survived by a son, James P. Johnston and wife, Roberta of Sebec; three daughters, Charlotte Gross and husband, John of Ledyard, Conn., Evelyn Lawerence and husband, Don of Davenport, Wash., Nora Wellington and husband, Don of Brooksville, Fla.; two sisters, Letha McLellen of Woodstock, N.B., Canada, Della Taylor of Houlton; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchild-ren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, one sister, and a grandson.

Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002, with the Rev. Chet Garrison officiating. A spring interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
