OBITUARIES

KARIN (JUDKINS) HOGAN
BANGOR AND WATERVILLE- Karin (Judkins) Hogan, formerly of Bangor and Waterville, died November 22, 2011, at her home in Oakland CA, following a long illness. Karin was born January 25, 1966, in Dexter, the eldest child of Fred S. Judkins, II and Judith (Brown) Judkins. She attended schools in Bangor and Waterville, and graduated from Waterville Senior High School in 1985, having completed her graduation requirements in just three years. After attending Colby College and traveling in Mexico and Europe, she studied at California State University, Hayward, and earned a BS in Physics with honors.

Karin married Michael Hogan in September 1998, in Scotland, and they made their home in Oakland, CA. Karin was employed as a computer scientist and test engineer in the nano-technology industries, and later, she and Michael started their own business designing and marketing precision engineered metal components for the biotech industry. Most of all, she loved dogs and spent many happy hours in her dog-walking business.

Besides her husband and her parents, she will be missed by her sister, Nicole Judkins Cooke and her husband, Alan, of Gainesville, FL; her brother, Nathan C. Judkins and his husband, Luis Esteva Felix of Walnut Creek, CA; her nieces, Jessica and Nathalie Judkins Cooke, and her dog Layla, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins from Maine to Oregon.
